As part of "The Computer Guys" on WAMU 88.5 FM, he won an award from the IEEE for excellence in technical communication.
When not in the studio, John helps companies make money with social media marketing. His success got the attention of Georgetown University.
In 2011 Georgetown University asked John to teach an annual graduate level class in social media marketing.
The Washington Post published his weekly column, "Ask the Computer Guy" for ten years.
